CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Lahey called the
meeting to order on the above date and time.
The
following Councilors present: Councilor Fitzgerald, Lipman, Baer, Hamel and
Bolduc. Also present City Manager Cabanel. Councilor Luther
absent.
1.
ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 221 VEHICLES & TRAFFIC
Councilor Bolduc introduced
and read for a first reading AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 221 VEHICLES AND
TRAFFIC. Seconded by Councilor Hamel. Ordinance
passed unanimously for a first reading.
2. NON-PUBLIC
SESSION:
Councilor Bolduc moved to go into non-public session
at 7:10 p.m. according to RSA 91-A:3,
II: (a) The dismissal, promotion or
compensation of any public employee, or the investigation of any charges
against him, unless the employee affected (1) has a eight to a meeting and (2)
requests that the meeting be open, in which case the request shall be granted
and (d) consideration of the
acquisition, sale or lease of real property which, if discussed in public,
would likely benefit a party or parties whose interests are adverse to those of
the general community. Seconded by Councilor Hamel. On a roll call vote the motion passed
unanimously.
On motion of Councilor Bolduc, seconded by Councilor
Hamel, it was voted to come out of non-public session at 8:05 p.m.
On motion of Councilor Bolduc, seconded by Councilor
Hamel, it was voted to seal the minutes for two years.
City Manager Eileen Cabanel reviewed the Laconia
Police Officers Association Summary of Costs 7-1-07 – 6-30-10. (attached to the
official minutes)
MOTION:
Councilor Hamel moved to accept the three year
contract as presented by the City Manager for a total increase over three years
of $55,411 with the understanding
that the wording in sub-section 17.6 is corrected in the contract. Seconded by Councilor Baer. Motion passed unanimously with a 5 -0 vote. Councilor
Luther absent.
ADJOURNMENT:
On motion of Councilor Bolduc, seconded by Councilor
Baer, it was voted to adjourn at 8:25 p.m.
